My strongpoints in working with a client who needs high-quality copywriting or copyediting
Attention to your specific wishes
Explaining complex things clearly
fact- and quote-checking
cultural sensitivity in relation to local or international forms of English, and proper names
Having the intended audience in mind at all times
interviewing and listening to the client before writing to find out what they need
practical suggestions when an argument can be improved or a better example given
Careful rephrasing of content, for utmost ease of reading
Appropriate phrasing where material is written to be spoken
speedy service and accessibility to client
Copywriting
I have previously written copy used as advertising material at an international property exhibition, and written a number of websites’ content from scratch.

Copyediting
Closer to publication-time, I have edited articles for publication in HuffPost, business proposals, and content for websites. I have regularly edited newsletters and checked job applications under tight deadlines. I have worked often with graduate students who are writing their theses, for whom English is a second language.

Commissions
If you have looked at the writing on this website, or seen my stuff elsewhere, and considered idly the possibility that it may be worth commissioning me to write an article, get in touch: before unseemly doubts begin to cross your mind.
Obviously many topics that have impassioned me appear on the website, and topics adjacent to these are welcome. But really anything is worth running by me. One strength of mine is research, so I can get up to speed, quick.
Explaining complex things clearly is another strength. And I will always bring real feeling and thinking to matters: can’t help that.

Astrology
I don’t “believe” in astrology. And I am not going on to say, instead, that I know it to be true or real. Rather, I’m disturbed by it. What astrology offers is complete, apt, language of every facet of consciousness, that would be worth engaging with, even if not a single one of its time-based manifestations were accurate. The disturbing part is that what an astrologer can tell you often does have an eerie prescience.
So here is an offering from me to anyone who cares to take it – which I hope means you. We can have a great conversation about your life, and about what you might expect to come up in the next year or two. Starting now. When we meet, I’ll just start talking: saying things about what might be shown in your birth chart (everyone should at least have a look at this strange representation of their time of birth), and about the character, for you, of the time you are in now. And we’ll just see if it rings any bells.
I can promise that this will only befuddle you to the extent that it illuminates aspects of your life. In other words, if it’s a load of nonsense, you can forget it. If it works for you, you may be confused, but you may also profit, gain clarity, be made hopeful by it.
This is free as a breeze. I am a student of this language of consciousness and just want to talk about it – and to learn from you, believe it or not! So you’ll not just be doing yourself a kindness. But if you do want to get in touch, please do it for your own good.
All I need are your date and place of birth, and your time of birth. We can talk in person or online. I would look forward to it: and thanks.
Patreon
Not so much a service, as the hope of a gift.
Patreon (for anyone not familiar with it) is a safe and easy means by which you can give a monthly subscription to people creating content that means something to you. A subscription from you allows me to continue writing and making podcasts regularly on this website, while also continuing to fossick for gold as a freelance. It is a real potential sustainer for me. I cannot put a certain aspect of the generosity this requires better than Richard Seymour has:
You cannot pay for good writing… And you can’t subscribe to a life-changing experience. All you can do is pay for writing to happen, and see what comes.”
To that extent, my subscribers have my sincere apologies. At any rate – in addition to helping my regular writing and fortnightly podcasts appear – as a Patreon subscriber, at the end of every month you will receive an extra article written exclusively for subscribers.
